The Last Four Months

So I realize I haven’t posted since May. Oops.

Let’s see….The rest of May was just more of the same. Surviving at home while Herbert was out of Kita and William was on reduced hours. I didn’t have classes, just a paper and a presentation to work on.

In June, William was able to go back to work full time. I started classes again the second week of June. Thankfully Will was able to work a split schedule so that he was home while I was supposed to have class. That actually worked really well. Then on June 15, Herbert got to go back to Kita! What an exciting day for everyone. So for 3 weeks, we continued with Herbert at Kita, William at work, and me doing school online.

In early July, I finished up my last class for the semester and had one exam. Herbert had summer break the last two weeks of July and the first week of August, so once again he was home with me. This was a little stressful, as I had a lot I was planning to work on over my summer break, but at least I didn’t have any classes. William took a week off of work and we visited local attractions like the zoo (which we loved!).

Then came August! Herbert’s first day back at school was also his 4th birthday. His class moved up into the “big class” with new teachers, which was very exciting for him. We also enjoyed having a few friends over for cake and playing. Unfortunately, Herbert caught a cold and had to stay home from Kita the second half of the week. I was supposed to be finishing a paper (my final assignment of the semester), so that really threw things off for everyone!

Thankfully now everyone is healthy and caught up with school. William is enjoying work, Herbert seems to be enjoying Kita (he never tells us anything), and I am working on a variety of things as I try to figure out what I want to do for the next year. I just signed up for an intensive German course through my university, but I also have to arrange an internship/research project and start thinking about my thesis. Let me just say, there are not enough hours in the day.

I’m going to try to update more regularly going forward, so that I can tell more stories about our day-to-day life. Is there anything in particular that you want to hear about?

Good for you Chloe and I am happy to hear that all three of you are well and that everything is coming along slowly but surely.

What are you studying by the way in which university? Where does William work? Please send me a short up date with this info along with your home street address and your home phone number there or if you don’t have one then your cell number. Let me know which is the best time to call you as I don’t want to disturb you at all. Looking forward to hearing from you.
