Flourishing in Deutschland began as a blog chronicalling our adventures living in Germany, beginning in September 2014. We lived in Kaufbeuren while my husband, William, attended jewelry school. What started as a 3 year move turned into 6 months for me and 9 months for William. The blog’s goal was to function as both a journal of our experiences for family and friends as well as advice for other expats.
It was a very stressful experience. We didn’t have the support of an American university or the financial assistance of a company. It is just the two of us, navigating everything. But it was also an amazing experience, one that we have been very eager to repeat.
Now that time has come. This time, I will be persuing a Master’s degree, and we will have significantly more support. This time, we will also have our 3-year-old son along for the adventure. Flourishing in Deutschland is being resurrected to share this new stage in our lives.
Who We Are
I’m Chloe, the primary writer behind this blog. My husband, William, may pop in at times, but don’t count on it. 🙂 We have been married for 5 years, and we have been together since high school. We have a 3-year-old son named Herbert.
